Earlier this month, Book Designer Veronica Scott and I finished designing the back cover and interior of The Train Rolls On To The North Pole. It took us roughly one month and seven rounds of revisions to complete the job, and I am really excited about the finished product!
Following completion of the design phase, I uploaded the book files to IngramSpark and Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP), Amazon's self-publishing platform. I then ordered proof copies of the hardcover and paperback versions of the book. As of this week, all proofs have arrived, and they look great! As you can see, I'm still reveling in my ability to finally hold the finished book in my hands. It feels GOOD! 😁
Are you ready for a sneak peek of the finished book? I can't wait to share it with you! 😃 Before I do, however, I should warn you that I'm going to handle this sneak peek a little differently than I did for Book #1. Instead of explaining my favorite components of the book (which are similar to those in Book #1), I'm simply going to show you the first several spreads. This way, you get to be your own tour guide, and you get an uninterrupted preview of the storyline and illustrations. So, with that in mind, here's the insider tour of Book #2:
I'm sorry to leave you on a cliffhanger like that, but there you have it- an early-bird preview of the finished book. What do you think? Do you like it? I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!
I am currently planning to launch the book in October. If you want to read the rest, I guess you'll have to wait until then. 😉 In the meantime, I hope you enjoyed this sneak peek, and I hope that you and the kids in your life will enjoy reading this book as much as I enjoyed making it!
Update: You no longer have to wait to find out how the book ends. As of October 18th, 2022, The Train Rolls On To The North Pole is available for purchase on Amazon and Barnes & Noble's websites. Whoopee!!! 🙌😃 You can also receive a full preview of the book by watching my YouTube video read-along here.
